Deanna Kienast
Music, massive construction, and traffic energy trigger the visual vocabulary of artist Deanna Kienast’s works. Vibrant color and lush surface texture flood the canvas. Her love of bold color, texture, and stark contrast are trademarks of her contemplative and sophisticated style.
“Happiness is the pulsating passion of my art. I can look at each piece I’ve created and it’s my favorite.” Influenced by abstractionists Picasso, Rothko, and Motherwell, Deanna has developed her own style that quickly captures the viewer and leaves them with a connecting message created on canvas.
A Texan for over twelve years, Deanna moved from Chicago to Southlake where she says her canvases have grown to “Texas Size.” Her vivid and original one of a kind paintings have been widely received and collected by private and corporate clients. Most recently her art captured international attention when The Bombay Company commissioned her to create a 4 × 6 painting that was hand reproduced and displayed in all 500 of their store locations. Seven foot banners highlighting this work were designed to tie the seasonal merchandise theme together and displayed in the front windows of each store. The 2,000 reproductions, each priced at $400, sold out in less than 30 days.
Deanna resides with her husband and has a married son in Austin, Texas.
